The Venezuelan Plastic Scosive Corporation (Coveplast) has the capacity to ensure the supply of all the production sectors that require the material, the vice president of the Economic Area, Tareck El Aissami, said on Thursday.
“Today we are taking a fundamental step for our Plastics Industrial Complex to start a step of the new productive beginning. We have the installed capacity to supply all sectors within plastic to 100% of the products that are given here, in addition we have an installed capacity to export,” he said from the Industrial PlasticS Processor Complex located in Valles del Tuy, Miranda state.
Aissami indicated that the National Government is in a phase of relaunching all the productive chaining of plastics.
The complex was inspected by the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, who asked to power the country’s 11 plastic processing plants.
“We have already started this process that I have called the liberation of productive forces. Liberation of the country’s productive forces, freeing ourselves from bureaucracy, dependence on imported products and taking the path of technological and productive independence fully,” he said.
The President ordered the president of the Venezuelan Petrochemical Products Complex, Antonio Nuñez Nieves, to make a plan to produce in the country the inputs that are imported and needed in the processing of plastic.
“We have to break the dependence on imported inputs,” he insisted. The head of state recalled that Venezuela is affected by the economic and financial blockade imposed illegally by the United States government through unilateral measures.
However, it confirmed that the country will be able to overcome the U.S. blockade and produce the goods the population needs.
“(United States) put us in a decisive position for the future of Venezuela and I can tell you, knowing our country in depth, Venezuela has everything to produce with national effort, everything that the Venezuelan people need for their daily lives”, Added.
