Maduro claims that Guaidó’s actions on the Esequibo constitute treason to the homeland

The actions promoted by the President of the National Assembly, Juan Guaidó, on Guayana Esequiba constitute an act of treason to the Fatherland, said the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.

During an event since Fort Tiuna, Caracas, Maduro repudiated that Guaidó intends to hand over to imperial countries the legitimate Venezuelan territory “in exchange for political support for his farcical government.”

He asserted that Guaidó intends to hand over the Esequibo to ExxonMobil to seek political support for his supposed government.

” (Juan Guaidó) is a disgrace to Venezuela (…)  we (The Executive) are in all world instances facing the imperial claims (…) intend to impose a pro-imperialist government, to divide the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, to seize the Guiana Esequiba, the oil, the Gulf Venezuela, departing the country into 20 pieces and spreading the wealth,” Maduro said.

In his words, he recapitulated what was mentioned in the morning by the vice-president of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, who denounced the conspiracy plans to deliver the Sequibo territory to the oil company company ExxonMobil.

In this regard, the Head of State requested the Public Prosecutor’s Office (MP) to initiate investigations into the Deputy, who heads the international criminal organization. “I think the prosecution should act expeditiously because it is a crime of betrayal of the Fatherland,” he said.
